The Fourth Trimester

A Time of Stillness to Heal and Nurture the Body, Mind, and Spirit.

 

For many mamas, the postnatal journey is far from easy. This is a time for healing and navigating a rollercoaster of emotions from postpartum healing to battling postnatal blues and even postnatal depression or anxiety.

During the postpartum period, it is very important for the physical and mental health of the new mother, to allow herself to rest and relax for the first 40 days of motherhood. 

In today's modern times, prior to pregnancy, women have had responsibilities of jobs and domestic obligations. Lives before being a mother are still very much of our identities and will always represent who we are as a person. And then, there’s an additional identity: the beautiful experience of being a new mother. In order to develop a healthy motherhood transition, we should allow ourselves to release some of our daily tasks to others, such as housekeeping, cooking, running errands, and taking care of our loved ones. Please do not feel guilty about asking and receiving this support.

You might ask yourself, how can I surrender and open my heart to the divine act of receiving?

I would like to share with you that this can be easily accomplished by connecting to your soul and physical body. I believe that when we allow ourselves to communicate and meditate with our inner selves and listen to our souls and our body’s needs, it then becomes easier to surrender to the ones who want to care for us.  By opening our minds to what our body and soul are crying out to us, we will be able to enjoy the healing time of our bodies and intimate times with our new baby.
